Kalanchoes prefer a bright location, but a wide range of light levels will be tolerated.
Maintain the soil on the dry side. Water thoroughly after the soil surface has become dry to the touch. If the flower is kept indoors, drain the excess water in the saucer at the base of the pot to prevent root rot and to protect the furniture.
Moderate temperatures are ideal: 65-70 F (18-21 C) daytimes and 60-65 F (15-18 C) nights. Avoid excessively hot or cold areas.
Fertilize the kalanchoe periodically, starting two to three weeks after it's purchase. Follow the manufacturer’s directions carefully.
Key tip for success: A bright light will help to sustain the flower's colors. Pale-colored flowers indicate inadequate light.
