The Areca Palm prefers a bright diffused light with no direct sun.
The plant prefers a warm climate all year, at least 61 F.
A uniformly moist soil is preferred. Water it thoroughly as soon as the soil feels dry to the touch. Drain the excess water in the saucer at the base of the pot to prevent root rot and to protect furniture. The Areca Palm requires high humidity. Mist leaves to provide extra humidity.
Fertilize the palm once a week in the summer months with a diluted solution.
Key tip for success: The leaves may drop and/or become yellow when there is not enough humidity.
