Ivy Topiary

(Hedera Helix)

A brightly lit location is preferred but ivy can be maintained for many weeks in lower light.

Moderately moist soil is preferred. Water ivy thoroughly when just the soil surface is dry to the touch. Do not allow plants to stand in water.

Cool/Moderate temperatures are ideal: 60-70 F (15-21 C) daytimes and 55-65 F (13-18 C) nights.

Fertilize the ivy periodically, following the manufacturer’s directions for the specific ivy variety.

Key tip for success: Variegated ivies require higher light than the all-green varieties. The temperature must be watched closely, because hot temperatures accompanied by dry soil will cause browning at the base of the plant.
