Christmas Cactus

(Schlumbergera)

The Christmas Cacti prefers a moderately bright light with some sun.

This plant performs well in a warm, breezy area. In summers it can be placed outside in a semi-shady location.

A moderately moist soil is preferred in the summer months, but absolutely not soggy.. Water thoroughly when soil feels dry to the touch. In the winter, decrease the waterings slightly. Drain excess water in saucer at base of pot to prevent root rot and to protect furniture.

In the summer, fertilize about once every two weeks and according to the manufacturer’s direction.

Key tip for success: If the branches appear shriveled the cactus is not getting enough water.
