Echevaria (Hen-and-Chickens)

(Echeveria)

The Echeveria prefers a sunny location with full sun year round.

This plant performs well in warm temperatures in the summer. In summers, it can be placed outside in a warm, sunny location. In winter, unless it is in bloom, it prefers cooler temperatures of 41-50 F.

The Echeveria prefers very little water. In the blooming period water slightly, when soil is very dry to the touch. In the winter, or while it is not in bloom, keep the soil very dry, watering it only occasionally.

Key tip for success: Too much water and/or dampness will kill the Echeveria quickly.
